The team at SETS Enterprises have been setting the safety benchmark for over 20 years, and this often involves a lot of volunteering time. 

In November 2022, a number of Western Australian employers were recognised for their generous support of emergency services volunteers, and SETS Enterprises were proud to be amongst these employers. 

During the ceremony, Emergency Services Minister Stephen Dawson commented: 

“Every year more than 26,000 emergency services personnel volunteer their time across the State and many of them couldn’t do this without the support of their employers. On behalf of the McGowan Government, congratulations and thank you for your support that helps keep the WA community safe.”

This recognition for SETS Enterprises comes as a result of the flexibility we offer our team to volunteer, Danial Stewart is one of these volunteers who has been recognised for his services within the Perth Metro area as part of this award. 

When reflecting on the award, SETS Enterprises CEO, Kevin Broadbent stated, “as mines emergency response and rescue trainers and advocates for fire and emergency response training in Western Australia, we understand the importance of providing support to our emergency rescue volunteers and emergency services within WA and Australia wide. The prevalence of bushfires within the Perth, Metro and peel regions in Western Australia have devastated many of these areas over the last 10 years. The stronger our volunteer emergency rescue responders are, the stronger the impact these emergency response teams will make on fires and other state emergencies experienced around Perth, Western Australia.” 

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards (VERA) recognise and acknowledge the efforts of WA businesses who actively go above and beyond to provide flexible workplaces for emergency service volunteers.
