SETS start at Sino Iron Project

Sino Iron is located at Cape Preston, about 100km south west of Karratha in Western Australia’s resource-rich Pilbara region, where a high grade, premium iron ore concentrate is produced for export. This is Australia’s largest magnetite mining and processing operation employing some 3,000 direct employees and contractors.

Following a competitive bid process, SETS were awarded the contract to deliver paramedic, security, and emergency response services 24/7/365 including specialist personnel, training, fleet, and equipment to the project. It was a busy few weeks in the lead up to us commencing with the SETS team busy preparing a select team to provide these critical services, as well as the support structure around them with the aim of providing modern and relevant procedures and leadership to support their operations.

It was perhaps fitting that SETS commenced day one of its new 3+2 year contract with Citic Pacific Mining (CPM) on 1 October being the Chinese Moon Festival and National Day, a 3,000 year old festival celebrating the harvest and the coming together of friends and family.

SETS CEO, Kevin Broadbent said, “This represents a milestone for us in that the contract award was our third attempt over the years to gain CPM as a trusted partner.  We are developing a ‘one-team’ approach to our operations based upon delivering a consistent service and long-term commitments to our people and the client group”.

Thank you to all involved in the commencement of this large project for SETS, we look forward to keeping you updated.
