SETS Sponsorship | Future Female Leaders Program

 In Fire & Emergency

SETS is proud to be a visionary sponsor for the Future Female Leaders Program

According to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency statistics for 2022, did you know that in Australia:

  • Women hold 17.6% of chair positions and 31.2% of directorships
  • Women represent 19.4% of CEOs and 34.5% of key management personnel

These statistics are alarming, and it’s long overdue to help shift these statistics and gain better diversity in the workplace – especially in the mining industry where women only account for 18 per cent of all employees in Australia.

And according to the 2021 AusIMM Women in Mining Survey, leadership is rated by 79.0% of women in resources as being a top priority for diversity and inclusion in the sector, and is identified as a key professional development priority by 55.0% of respondents.

This is why SETS is proud to be a visionary sponsor for the Future Female Leaders Program 2022.

About Future Female Leaders Program

The Future Female Leaders Program is the career kick starter for future change makers and dream chasers, bringing together education and industry to change the game for our future female visionaries in Western Australia.

With the 2022 program recently launched at the end of March, this 6-month program enables and empowers 14 female Year 11 high school students, our female leaders of tomorrow, by equipping them NOW with the skills, experiences and conversations they need to succeed in a complex, uncertain and ambiguous world. A world where they CAN and WANT to be the difference. Be the game changers. Be the dreamers AND the doers.

Putting the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at the heart and centre of the program is one of its key points of difference. Each participant selects a UN Sustainable Development Goal that they are the most passionate about and create and build a social impact project tackling that goal. With the support of their mentor’s guidance and armed with the invaluable skills they learn throughout the program they bring their social impact project to life.

As a visionary sponsor, SETS has provided a full scholarship and placement for a future female leader for the duration of this 6-month program. We are excited to be on this journey to help empower future female leaders, and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish!
