SETS Confined Spaces Course
Commonly found at mine sites, a confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed space that is not designed for people to be or work in. This is due to the risks they pose to a person’s health (including unconsciousness, injury or even death) from, but not limited to:
- Effects from airborne contaminants.
- Fire from flammable contaminants igniting.
- Oxygen deficiency or submersion in free-flowing solids (such as grain, sand, fertiliser etc.) or liquids (such as water).
- Falling from heights.
- Environmental factors, including extremes in temperature or poor lighting.
Because of these dangers, it is critical that you are properly trained to safely enter and work in confined spaces. This is why SETS have multiple confined space courses available in Perth, Western Australia, on our public course calendar.
