Course Outline
The Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue course is a nationally accredited course that is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge and skills to allow them to operate safely within emergency services, across a variety of industries. This qualification is to provide training for those who will fulfil the role of response and rescue team members.
Course Structure
This course is delivered through a combination of classroom learning, group discussion and practical activities in both a simulated and real-world environment.

With the following units of competency:

- PUAFIR207 Operate breathing apparatus open circuit
- PUAFIR210 Prevent injury
- RIIERR201E Conduct fire team operations
- RIIERR302E Respond to local emergencies and incidents
- PUAEQU001 Prepare, maintain and test response equipment
- PUASAR022 Participate in rescue operation
- PUASAR024 Undertake road crash rescue
- PUAFIR324 Render hazardous materials incidents safe
- PUAFIR306 Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident
- RIIERR301E Respond to work site incidents

Students who attend and successfully meet all assessment requirements of the course will receive a nationally recognised certificate: RII30719 Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue.

There is a maximum number of 10 participants per program.
To meet the course requirements, students must:
- Have sufficient English language, literacy and numeracy skills to read instructions and write assessments
- Be physically fit and able to carry at least 20 kgs of weight
- Be clean shaven as per AS 1715
- Be able to manage feelings of claustrophobia
- Must be able to climb ladders or stair under load
- Provide their USI on enrolment
- Provide proof of identity, e.g. drivers licence
- Wear or bring long sleeve, long pants or overalls, safety boots, safety glasses

These units of competency are all clustered into the Certificate III Emergency Response and Rescue delivery and no previous training is required for attendance.
Students are required to be able to complete the following tasks:
- communicate with others clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
- find and use relevant information
- read and comply with work instructions and specifications
- read and record measurements
- record and report information neatly and legibly
Booking this course includes an $800 deposit, however, the full $4,950 will be required prior to completion of the course. This price includes the promotional discount of $550 for November and December 2023 courses only.
